Playing chords and extensions

With no chord selected, a key plays a single note. Hold a chord button and a root key together to play the chord. Only one chord plays at a time. A chord doesn’t sound until you press a root key.

  • Double-tap a chord to latch it. Double-tap again to unlatch.
  • While a chord is latched, a single tap on another chord moves the latch.
  • Holding a different chord overrides the latch until you let go.

Extensions add notes to the chord. Hold any number of them with the root key. Extensions don’t latch.

Inverting a chord with Keyboard Zones

Keyboard Zones split each key into 1–3 blocks that play the chord in root position, first inversion or second inversion.

Open Settings in the toolbar, choose the Settings tab, and turn on the inversions you want under Split Keyboard into Zones.

Velocity and modulation still work with Keyboard Zones. Velocity is measured within each zone.

Editing a chord slot

Open Settings in the toolbar and choose the Chords tab. Tap a chord or extension, then tap notes on the keyboard to add or remove them.

  • A chord holds up to 5 notes, including the root, across two octaves. Chords are shown with a C root.
  • An extension is a single note.

Pitch bending

Use the Pitch wheel to bend a chord up or down two semitones.
