Using the arpeggiator
The arpeggiator plays the held chord one note at a time, in time with an incoming MIDI clock. Mother MIDI doesn’t make a clock of its own. With no clock coming in, the arpeggiator is silent. Send clock from your DAW or hardware to Mother MIDI. See Syncing the arpeggiator.
Toggle the arpeggiator button in the toolbar, then play a chord. The Arp tab of Settings shows which clock it is following.
Three quick controls sit beside the Pitch wheel. Tap one to step through its options:
- Rate: 4, 8, 8T, 16, 16T, 32.
- Mode: Up, Down, Up-Down, Down-Up.
- Oct: 1, 2 or 3 octaves.
The Arp tab of Settings has these controls too, plus:
- Root +12 adds the root an octave above the top note.
- Double notes plays every step twice.
